Who on earth is Walter? Did I miss something? The last line of the show. This episode was better than the last. Each episode gets better and better. I absolutely love this series. So many subtle clues, etc., to look for.

I think Walter was an old spy that Hetty knew years ago, and he was in a nursing home where she pretended to be his wife and went and read to him every week. I believe he was killed in that episode for a list of spies identities that he pretended to have. Hetty eventually ended up with this list, but convinced everyone that it did not exist.
