"Guess I should pay more attention to the opening titles I'd missed that, but then again they had the guy playing Eric listed as guesting last season and he was in every episode. I could have sworn I'd seen a press release some where that stated who had signed contracts for this season of NCIS and LA and Cambor was on that list.

As for the disjointed feeling, personally I kind of like it, I hate shows where I feel like the whole season is a loss to me if I miss one episode. At the same time I can understand how it bothers others. Most likely these first few episodes will feel that way then the season will connect. It makes sense in an "let's draw new viewers in" way
I guess LA also feels so different because we're going into season 2 and there is still so much about the characters that we don't know.

Actually I cut down the first episode and came up with 10 minutes of character interaction that had nothing to do with the episode's story line (this also excluded anything to do with Deeks).
